Jazz, potluck and a desire to beat Republicans are the three ingredients a local Democratic group hopes will unite their party.
On Thursday in Laconia, the Belknap County Democrats will host a "Unity Potluck" gathering.
Lynn Chong, Chairwoman of the Belknap County Democrats, said the potluck idea was conceived after the group realized that some members might be upset after the party's presidential nominee is picked.
"Some few will be happy with the outcome, and many personally disappointed. So it was the vote of the Nov. 28th County Summit that we do something after the primary to bring unity among us all," Chong said.
She added, "Whatever size gathering we have, I'm sure it will lead towards what we need and want: unity."
