Congressman Hodes to Hold Telephone Town Hall Meeting for North Country
Washington, DC -- Congressman Paul Hodes today announced that he will be holding a telephone town hall meeting on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 7 pm for North Country residents. He will discuss the recent mill closures in the North Country, economic opportunities, and the status of his Northern Border Development Commission legislation that could bring up to $60 million in investment per year for economic development in Northern New Hampshire. Congressman Hodes will take questions on issues important to North Country residents.
North Country residents may receive an automated telephone call from Congressman Hodes' office that will give them the option to be automatically connected into the telephone town hall with Congressman Hodes. In addition, all New Hampshire residents will have the opportunity to join the town hall through the information given below.
"North Country residents are truly hurting in this economic downturn," Congressman Hodes said. "I want to hear their concerns and talk with working families throughout this region of the state. This telephone town hall will allow North Country families to have a town hall meeting together and with their elected representative without leaving their own home, which is especially important given the rising price of gas. We have the technology to connect with our community, and I want to bring the town hall right to them."
"I look forward to hearing from New Hampshire's North Country residents and sharing my thoughts on economic opportunities for the North Country," Congressman Hodes concluded.
Any New Hampshire resident can connect into the telephone town hall by dialing the following number and using the included pass code: 1-866-447-5149, PIN: 13667.
