GOFFSTOWN- The New Hampshire Democratic Party has finalized their delegation to the national convention in Denver.
The party is sending a total of 34 delegates to the convention, 30 delegates and 4 alternates. Of the 30 delegates attending Hillary Clinton will have 12, Barack Obama 12, John Edwards four and two are undecided. The four alternates do not vote at the convention.
The often archaic process went smoothly. The tensest time occurred when the Obama delegates thought they had a delegate on the credentials committee. Donna Soucy, a Clinton supporter, was automatically elected because party rules stipulate that break-down includes a female and Soucy was the only female nominated for a committee position.
Speaking to the meeting, U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) each called for party unity.
"All of us, including me, we should not be looking at the lent on our candidate clothes, we should be looking at the stain on the Republican clothes," Shea-Porter said.
"Whatever happens between now and the convention, once the candidate is picked we must stand together," Hodes said.
The district level delegates, which were selected by caucus in December, elected party leader elected officials, at-large delegates, alternates and an unpledged add-on.
Kathy Sullivan was elected as an unpledged add-on delegate. While, Terie Norelli (Clinton), Mary Rauh (Obama) and Peter Burling (Edwards) were selected as party leader elected official (PLEO) delegates.
At-large Delegates included Terry Schumaker (Clinton), Jim Demers (Obama), Lou D'Allesandro (Clinton), Erin Thesing (Obama) and Sharon Nordgren (Edwards).
Alternates are Chip Moynihan (Obama), Jane Clemons (Clinton), Donna Soucy (Clinton), Rob Warner (Edwards).
Former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen continues to lead U.S. Sen. John E. Sununu in their race for the Senate this year, a new poll out today suggests.

Nobody ran for the position.
Nobody ran for the position. It is always filled by the party chair. Ray has stated, and I believe him, that he offered that position to Kathy more than a year ago. It was offered before any candidates had declared or endorsements were given. As outgoing chair of the party, Kathy seemed the obvious choice to fill this spot.
Buckley's Pick
The rules gave the state party chairman the ability to nominate a delegate. He nominated only one person so it took only one vote of the 14 delegates for Kathy Sullivan to win. Democracy at its best!
Duh!
It is the position that is "unpledged" not the person. 22 delegates are apportioned according to the results of the primary. The remaining 8 delegates are elected based on who they are not who they support.
Kathy Sullivan was elected unanimously by the delegation.
Hope this helps.
Rigging the game again
Why did Kathy ger an "unpledged" position? She was a major Clinton supporter.
More rigging the game from Team Buckley.
add-on position
Was Kathy Sullivan unopposed for the add-on position? Or was there an Obama supporter also running?
