GOP worried about Sununu

U.S. Sen. John E. SununuU.S. Sen. John E. SununuNew Hampshire Republicans are beginning to ask: where is U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley)?

CongressDaily reports that Republican activists are worried that Sununu lacks a campaign structure and is allowing former governor Jeanne Shaheen to define the race.

"Sources in the state say Sununu is in the process of building his campaign now. Staffers are being hired and keys were distributed last week for a campaign headquarters due to open soon in Manchester," Erin McPike reports. "The approach, puzzling to say the least, has allowed Shaheen to define the race so far without having to defend herself or respond to his initiatives."

Campaign strategist Julie Teer said, “We’re right where we want to be and are following our campaign strategy according to plan.”

Though it should be noted that the only Republicans quoted for the story are Skip Murphy and Doug Lambert, who operate the site GraniteGrok.

Get to it John!

I'm one of those annoyed activists. What is he waiting for? I've been volunteering for John Stephen and we've been hitting the trail hard for 4 months. We have a sense of urgency that fits the challenge and importance of beating Shea-Porter in the 1st district race. Sununu needs to follow Stephen's lead and not fall victim to the same complacency that caused Jeb Bradley to lose in 2006.
