State Sen. Bob CleggU.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) asked constituents to send him their personal experiences on issues that matter to them and he would read them on the House Floor.
Hodes has received a letter from constituent and political rival, state Sen. Bob Clegg (R-Hudson).
"I personally have experienced the American Dream," Clegg wrote. "This land of opportunity gave me the ability to go from a poor kid in a big family, shining shoes and mopping floors to help my family make ends meet, to a successful businessman and elected volunteer for my community."
Clegg's letter touched upon gas prices, the economy and healthcare.
"Thank you for the opportunity to express to my fellow constituents that self reliance is the greatest lesson and opportunity for achievement," Clegg finished his letter.
Mark Bergman, Hodes communications Ddrector, confirmed that Hodes has received the letter.
"We have received many replies to the Voices of the People program and we will be reviewing all of the letters to make sure we have diverse and representative stories to enter into the Congressional Record," Bergman said.
