Steiner to receive Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver

Steiner for Congress P.O. Box 2008 Concord, NH  03302 www.joinjim2008.com
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:   Jim Steiner, candidate for Congress in the 2nd Congressional District, will be a recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver award, the highest state-level scouting award made to volunteers, at a dinner to be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 in Concord.   The award recognizes "those who implement the scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not actively seek it." according to the qualifications.  Steiner, who earned his Eagle rank as a youth in Manchester, has been involved in the scouting program for over 40 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors for scouting in New Hampshire.    Steiner joins such other New Hampshire notable recipients as Sen. Warren Rudman and former Nashua businessman Max I. Silber.  Steiner said, "Max Silber served as a role model to me growing up in scouting in New Hampshire, as has former Sen. Warren Rudman, who invited me to serve on his military service academy nominating committee while he was in office."    Steiner indicated he had no idea he had been nominated.
