Amanda "Mandy" Merrill has decided to run for the state Senate, three sources tell PolitickerNH.com.
Merrill will be running for the office being vacated by state Sen. Iris Estabrook (D-Durham). Estabrook will support Merrill's candidacy.
Merrill is currently a policy advisor for the majority office in the House.
Update: "Yes, as you've heard earlier today, I do intend to run for the Senate District 21 seat and will issue an announcement soon," Merrill said in an e-mail.
