HAMPTON- The Rockingham County Democratic Committee met to elect leaders and fill executive committee positions.
The Rockingham Democrats re-elected Lenore Patton for Chairwoman, Bob Bruce as Vice-Chairman, Barbara Ward for Secretary and Anita Freedman for Treasurer. All candidates ran unopposed and were voted by voice vote.
Bruce is running for Executive Council District 4 seat and Freedman is the retiring Democratic National Committeewoman.
The committee also elected people to fill twelve executive committee positions.
Elected to those positions include: Larry Drake, Harley Featherston, Kevin Fleming, Joan Jacobs, Pam Jorgenson, Chip Moynihan, Bobby Nord, Paul O'Connor, Gary Patton, Robin Read, Jim Webber and Marion Willis.
The executive committee represents the Rockingham Democrats before the state committee.
After the vote the committee discussed the need for Democrats to unite in November.
"No matter who wins we need to come together and help elect Democrats in the fall," Bruce told the group.
