Daphne Kenyon (D-Windham) has officially announced that she will run for the state senate.
Kenyon will be running in Senate District 19 against current state Sen. Robert Letourneau (R-Derry).
She told PolitickerNH.com that she will focus on education funding, the widening of I-93 and making the property tax more affordable.
“I was discouraged to see Derry lose such a large amount of money,” she said discussing education funding formulas. “Unlike most people, I know how those formulas work.”
Kenyon is an economist and member of the state Board of Education.
Kenyon called Letourneau a “nice guy” but added “fresh ideas, great energy and a new perspective are needed.”
She will hold an official campaign kick-off sometime in June.
