State Senator Kathy Sgambati (D-Tilton) has decided to run for re-election.
"The voters of District 4 trusted me to represent them and I have worked hard to honor that trust. I first ran for office to increase access to affordable health care, to protect New Hampshire's natural assets and to support small businesses," Sgambati said in a press release. "We have made substantial progress on all of these fronts."
"There is more that needs to be done" Sgambati added. "I am seeking reelection to continue to our progress on economic development, education and health care while working to help address growing budget concerns. I look forward to working with Governor Lynch and the Senate to meet the needs of District 4 and the state."
Sgambati currently has no Republican opposition.
She represents Senate District 4 which covers Laconia, Tilton, Barnstead, New Durham, Gilford, Belmont, Gilmanton and Strafford.

Who's the GOP candidate?
Sgambati was swept into office by last election's Democratic tsunami. She'll have a tough time repeating if the GOP puts up a viable candidate.
Sgambati
Senator Sgambati has proven herself be one of the best to ever serve in the senate. Her national awards for her work in her first term give the people of district 4 a level of competence that has been unknown for years.
Her victory in 2006 was no fluke and with straight ticket voting gone she will win with 60% of the vote. Her campaign is already in great shape.
