Response to Request that the State Democratic Party Publicize Convention Resolution
Raymond Buckley, chair of the NH Democratic Party, released the following statement today regarding a request that the party publicize the resolution passed at the recent Democratic Party state convention calling for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney:
“The state party has followed all the requirements contained in the resolution regarding its publication and dissemination.
“Copies of the resolution were sent to the speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, the speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and to Vice President Cheney in his capacity as the presiding officer to the U.S. Senate.
“In addition, the resolution, along with all others passed at the convention, is posted on the state party website (www.nhdp.org).
“These steps go above and beyond the party’s past practice when it comes to disseminating resolutions passed at the convention, and they meet desires of those at the convention who voted for the resolution.
“The process that led to the passage of the convention’s resolutions was the most open and inclusive in recent memory, and I am proud of what was the most successful convention in New Hampshire Democratic Party history.”
