State Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester)MANCHESTER- Standing before 200 supporters, state Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester) announced that he is running for re-election.
Gatsas spent most of his kick-off speech discussing state finances.
"We don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem," he said. "It's important that we look forward and get leadership that will control spending."
He added that the retirement pension bill is the most important piece of legislation facing the legislature.
"If there was different leadership we'd have the legislation by now," said at the Derryfield Country Club.
Gatsas told attendees that he would rely on their support as the election gets closer.
"It's onto November and I'll be calling on you again in November for sign locations and your help."

Ted Gatsas
Ted Gatsas' appearance of wanting to do the right thing for the community has the perception for many in this community of condescending dictatorialness. One cannot disagree with Mr. Gatsas, there appears to be no room for another's opinion. No room or allowance for agree to disagree ism.
For those who support Mr. Gatsas fine, however for some in our community who do not it is not a personal attack on Mr. Gatsas. It is the impression he generates when he speaks to issues that appear to be contrary to his point of view.
Given that Mr. Gatsas is a man of substantial wealth I do not and cannot easily believe he can address the needs of many in this community who barely get by. Hard working citizens who have certain rights under the law to expect fair and equal consideration of their needs.
The human equation appears to be lost in
mix of politicking.
Unless and until one is caught up in the every day struggle of just existing as opposed to living free those who support Mr. Gatsas who are not struggling may not be able to see the validity of these concerns.
Humility at any level of society is a good thing. I do not see this in Mr. Gatsas.
How much does he really care about doing the right thing for the right reasons as opposed to doing it just because it does not fit his personal agenda efforts? Personal agendas which may not be in the best interest of all of the people, all of the time, but more about the best interests of the certain few.
In his personal life he can do just about anything he sets his mind to, however as an officially elected member of our lawful community isn't it his responsibility to advocate vigorously for those who entrusted their vote to him believing he would do just that? Naivety once again claims trust.
