June 6, 2008 Sen. Sheila Roberge (603) 472-8391
Bedford, NH: Senator Sheila Roberge (R-Bedford) announced today that she will run for re-election to the New Hampshire State Senate in District 9, which includes the towns of Bedford, Greenfield, Lyndeborough, Merrimack, Mont Vernon and New Boston.
Senator Roberge is a strong, steadfast friend of the taxpayers of District 9, fighting to keep taxes low, eliminate wasteful state spending, and promote a business friendly environment.
“I am honored that the citizens of Bedford, Greenfield, Lyndeborough, Merrimack, Mont Vernon and New Boston have elected me to represent them in the State Senate,” says Senator Roberge. “I want to continue my fight to lower taxes, reduce spending, streamline regulations and increase economic development – clearly my opponent has a different view.”
A staunch opponent of a sales or income tax, Senator Roberge, the Dean of the Senate, has long made taxes the center point of her campaigns.
“The state faces some significant challenges. State spending continues to out pace revenues and that has to stop. We have to rein in spending, and eliminate wasteful spending to put our fiscal house in order,” Roberge continued. “I ask my constituents for their votes again in September and November so I can continue to fight for low taxes and an education funding solution that is fair to the residents of District 9 and fair to the state.”
