"Continuing the series of roundtable discussions Michelle kicked off in New Hampshire and hosted around the country throughout the primary season, Obama and Shaheen will speak with working women about the challenges they face at a roundtable discussion in Manchester," a campaign press release states.
Shaheen is competing for the U.S. Senate against current U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley).
During the New Hampshire primary, Shaheen's husband, Billy Shaheen was forced to resign as a New Hampshire co-chairman of Hillary Clinton's campaign because he said Republicans will use Obama's drug use against him.
"The Republicans are not going to give up without a fight ... and one of the things they're certainly going to jump on is his drug use," Billy Shaheen told The Washington Post in December. He said that Obama Obama's writings on the topic could be used by the Republicans. "It'll be, 'When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?'"

Power Hungry Pols
Campaigning with Shaheen? After Bill Shaheen insinuated Barack was a drug dealer? Further proof that politicians will do anything to get or maintain power.
What a stupid comment.
Fergus is that you again?
A Tale of 2 Bills
Hey, when is Bill Shaheen going to come out of hiding? He's a bigger liability to Jeanne than Bubba was to Hillary.
Water under the covered bridge.
I would like the opportunity to shake Billy's hand and say, vet to vet, "thank you for your service."
Billy is second to none.
Veterans
Jack, with your obvious deep respect for veterans, will you be supporting another veteran, war hero John McCain, versus non-veteran Barack Obama?
Civilian control of the US military
When I swore my oath of enlistment, it said:
I, Jack Mitchell, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
It is rather frightening to suggest that my vote is somehow tied to my comraderie with my brothers and sisters in arms. That attitude could bring a junta to the greatest Democracy in history. I honor John McCain for his service, as I honor all that have served.
The word "hero", imho, gets thrown around way to much. You must know that phrase, all gave some, some gave all. Who gets to pin the hero badge on anyone? We all serve and we all do what we have to, some more then others. I have met my share of men and women that have had their heart touched by fire. None in my experience claim any special recognition for themselves. True heroes are always humble.
I highly recommend you watch that PBS documentary "The War" by Ken Burns. It should offer some perspective.
