STATEMENT BY BOB CLEGG ON 2nd AMENDMENT RULING CRITICISM
Concord, NH - Today the Supreme Court sided with the Constitution and ruled against a Washington DC Gun ban, preventing people the 2nd Amendment Right to bear arms. In response, candidates from many levels released statements addressing today's fantastic decision by our Nation's Highest Court, yet unfortunately, 2nd Congressional District Candidate Bob Clegg was inaccurately criticized. Clegg released the following statement in response:
"Grant Bosse did what so many candidates make the mistake of doing; use quick rhetoric to try to grab some spotlight on the hot topic of the day, without knowing the facts or history of it. The legislation he is referring to in his criticism of me, was created to protect the Lone Pine Hunters Firing Range in Hollis. It is unfortunate that the bill, which I sponsored and passed, was turned over by a court. My record on the defense of the 2nd Amendment is strong and clear. While I appreciate Grants own support of the 2nd Amendment it should be noted, he's only talked about it, never fought to protect it. Today should be a celebration between all those who hold the values of our Constitution so dear. Together, even if we are opponents, this should be one issue we come together and today appreciate the work of our forefathers to ensure. We must remember, even though we are opponents, we are all Americans and sometimes, just sometimes, we should be able to put aside our actual differences, and be proud of that which we agree on."
