The leader of the New Hampshire Democratic Party and a senior advisor to the Obama campaign are praising U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's (D-Ill.) decision to hold the convention speech at Denver's Invesco field at Mile High.
The Democratic National Convention Committee announced this morning that the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee would deliver his convention speech at a stadium that can hold 75,000 people.
"I think this will be the most open Democratic convention in the history of the Democratic Party," said Jim Demers, a senior advisor to Obama's New Hampshire campaign. "This will be an opportunity for tens-of-thousands of people, who might not otherwise be able to participate, to attend the convention. It should make for a great kick-off to the campaign."
Ray Buckley, Chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party, said the speech might be "one of, if not the greatest ever."
"The acceptance speech at every convention is always the highlight, but this night will even be one of, if not the greatest ever," Buckley said in an e-mail. "Combining the excitement of the campaign, Senator Obama's oratory skills, this history making of the first person of color to be nominated AND that it is happening exactly 45 years to the day of Dr. King's ‘I Have a Dream" speech' - this will be a night that will be a lasting and special memory for not only the 75,000 in the arena but the millions who will watch it on tv across the nation and around the world. I could not be more thrilled."

I'm not a huge Obama fan but
I'm not a huge Obama fan but the people behind Obama are running a top notch campaign. I just wish he was a top notch candidate...
Cash flow
I guess this is how they will make up the cash flow deficit for the convention and then decorate it as some rock star event...err a racial event seeing as it always has to be about race.
I am still waiting for the substance on why he should be elected. Being a community organizer and big tax raiser guy just really doesn't do anything for me.
convention speech
This is positive image of America starting right at home. He should stop trying to make America good abroad, America is a warmonger right now, now an iota of respect.
$5
I guess it is a cash grab.
Per the BO website:
"If you make a donation of $5 or more between now and midnight on July 31st, you could be one of 10 supporters chosen to fly to Denver and spend two days and nights at the convention, meet Barack backstage, and watch his acceptance speech in person. Each of the ten supporters who are selected will be able to bring one guest to join them."
I would have to agree with the cash flow comment.
FISA
I am a reluctant Obama supporter, having supported a real change candidate, Dennis Kucinich, in the primary. However, if Sen. Obama does what he seems poised to do, and votes for the current FISA bill, I and many other activists are done with him. If he doesn't have the brains to see what a sellout to the terror mongers this bill is, then he doesn't deserve the support of those of us who desperately seek a new direction away from fear in this country. I'm waiting, but I'm not hopeful, Senator.

There is no choice in my
There is no choice in my mind. Mccain is just not how I imagine a leader. Gaffe after gaffe and all he can do this week is talk about Obama. Has he nothing to say about himself?
Also what a joke the commercial blaming Obama for rising gas prices.... a BIG JOKE! The GOP has been in the white house for almost 8 years... do they take no blame? I'm not dumbed down!
