Bosse Welcomes Clegg to Energy Debate
Urges Support for Domestic Drilling, End to Congressional Interference
(Hillsboro) Republican Grant Bosse today welcomed rival Bob Clegg to the national debate over energy policy. Bosse introduced a Comprehensive Energy Plan in May that calls for increasing domestic energy exploration, ending subsidies for oil companies, and leveling the tax code to bring alternative energy to market. Clegg plans to unveil his ideas on energy later this week.
“I’m pleased to see Bob Clegg finally talking about energy policy,” Bosse said. “It’s a major expense for American families, and our current Congress would rather shut down for a month than hold an open vote on increasing our domestic oil reserves.”
Bosse stresses Congress can’t be trusted to pick America’s energy sources for the next century, citing the billions of taxpayer dollars wasted on a failed ethanol policy. Instead, Bosse wants to get Congress out of the way, and allow new refineries and nuclear power plants to be built.
“I’ve said for three months we need to end Congressional interference in our energy markets, increase domestic energy production, and let new clean sources of energy develop,” Bosse added. “I welcome Bob Clegg’s voice to this important topic. Voters deserve to know where we stand.”
Ending ethanol subsidies is the first of Bosse's "50 Days, 50 Ways to Cut Federal Spending". Doing so would save taxpayers $6.2 Billion annually. To learn more about Bosse’s superior grassroots campaign, go to www.Bosse2008.com.
