GATSAS SENDS BACKUS CLEAN CAMPAIGN PLEDGE
DEMOCRAT PARTY LEADERS ASKED TO SIGN ON

MANCHESTER,
NH - - Senator Ted Gatsas has challenged opponent Robert “Bob” Backus to sign a Clean Campaign Pledge.  “It’s my hope that Bob will agree to run an issues based campaign rather than resorting to scare tactics, distortion and cheap campaign trickery” began Gatsas.

The Clean Campaign Pledge has four objectives: 1) to call for an exemplary code of conduct to be followed by each
candidate, 2) an agreement to not personally attack one another, 3) denounce all third party activity and 4) receive
acknowledgement from third party stakeholders to honor the pledge.

“There are critical issues facing the voters and they deserve solutions over dirty political rhetoric.  The constituents in District 16 are concerned about how they are going to pay for their heating bills this winter, the escalating
cost of gas for their cars to get to and from work and how the State of New Hampshire’s looming fiscal
crisis is going to affect their pocket book. Any
senseless distraction away from the issues would be nothing more than a disservice to the voters,” added Gatsas.

The Clean Campaign Pledge has been signed by the following Republican representatives in addition to State Senator Ted Gatsas as a show of support and
understanding of the agreement: NH Republican Chairman Fergus Cullen, Manchester City Chairman Will Infantine and Senator Jack Barnes as the representative for
the Senate Republican Victory PAC.  Democrat counterparts Raymond Buckley for the NH Democrat Party, Chris Pappas for the Manchester City Democrats and Senator Sylvia Larsen for the NH Democratic Caucus have all been issued a copy of the pledge along with challenger Bob Backus.

“The ball is in Bob’s court; he must decide what kind of race the voters deserve and ask the party leadership to respect his wishes,” concluded Gatsas.

The pledge has been sent to Backus at bob@backusforsenate.com and to the address on file with the Secretary of State.  All other named parties have also
received the pledge via e-mail information available to Gatsas for State Senate and by mail.
