Festive campaign event recruits over 125 new supporters!
Concord, NH - Andy Sanborn (R - Henniker), candidate for the New Hampshire Senate in District 7, held a celebratory kick-off fundraising party on Tuesday evening, with over one hundred and twenty five supporters and new donors eager to meet and talk with the candidate. The Draft, a popular Concord restaurant and sports bar, hosted the packed event. Sanborn is running in the September 9th Primary election for the right to challenge Senator Harold Janeway.
"I enjoyed the opportunity to meet supporters and speak out on the issues that prompted me to run for office for the first time. Of course, it's always nice when you can have fun while doing it, too!" said Sanborn. "Having never run for political office, I am awed and humbled by the amount of support I've received so far. It shows that the people want to bring back our traditional New Hampshire values, after all it is supposed to be the "Live Free or Die" State. Their support will help send me to Concord where I intend to fight for smaller government and a lower tax burden for all New Hampshire citizens."
"Speaking with Andy one on one gave me renewed hope in local NH politics. Here is a candidate who will maintain the prospective of limited Government and Individual freedoms. Here is a candidate who will push back on uncontrolled government spending and regulation," said Tom Sheehan, a new supporter. "Here is a guy that is not a career politician. He is just like me. This guy will fight for us. It was refreshing to have a conversation with someone running for office that actually took the time to listen to me," Sheehan added.
Attendees included New Hampshire residents, business owners and GOP powerhouses, including Senate Minority Leader Ted Gatsas, Senator John Gallus, US Congressional Candidate Grant Bosse and members of the Merrimack and Hillsborough Republican Committee, as well as representatives from the McCain Campaign.
"We are grateful that our first fundraiser drew so many supporters and contributors, among both old friends and new faces. This has only added to the momentum of our campaign." said Josh Cheetham, Political Director for Sanborn.
