Mayberry: Palin is a ‘fresh face’

DENVER--U.S. John McCain's Strafford County Chairman says that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) will help lead a new generation of Republican leaders.

"She will be the leader of the next generation of Republican leaders," Matt Mayberry told PolitickerNH.com.

"I'm pretty excited about it," Mayberry said. "It's not a voice we've heard in the party before."

Mayberry added that Palin will appeal to the base of the Republican Party.

"I think she is fantastic. She is a fresh face for the Republican Party that adds to the diversity of the party. She will also appeal to the conservative base of the party because of her record."

Mayberry also said that Palin's pick will not undercut the argument that McCain is more experienced than his rival U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

"John McCain has more experience in one finger than Barack Obama has in his entire body."
