MINNEAPOLIS-- Bob Burns (R-Manchester), candidate for Hillsborough County Treasurer, says that county races do not get the amount of attention that they should.
"I think it's underrated," Burns said. "I don't think county races even get the same amount of attention as state rep. races."
Burns added that it is difficult for a county office candidate to raise their name recognition.
"One of the problems running for Hillsborough County Treasurer is that it covers the two congressional districts," Burns said. "It's hard to get your name out there."
Burns said that he will benefit because his aunt previously served in the same position.
Burns also said that he only knows "the basics" about his opponent, Chris Pappas (D-Manchester).
"He seems like a fine guy, I know the basics about the guy," Burns said. "We definitely disagree on issues that don't have anything to do with being treasurer."
