Hurst says Palin will help McCain carry Manchester

MINNEAPOLIS--The Manchester chairman for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign says that his Gov. Sarah Palin will help McCain win the Queen City in November.

"I think he's going to do much better because of this selection," Cliff Hurst told PolitickerNH.com. Hurst said the pick has energized conservative voters in Manchester.

Hurst, former Gov. Mike Huckabee's New Hampshire campaign co-chair, said he is not disappointed that Huckabee was not selected as vice-president.

"Not really, I think he's probably happy doing what he's doing," Hurst said.

The former Manchester chairman is optimistic that Doug Kruse (R-Manchester) and state Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester) will win their respective state senate campaigns.

"Doug Kruse is a bright light, rising star, he's a very capable person," he said. "The work he's done on the education committee is commendable."

Hurst said that he promised the congressional campaigns of John Stephen (R-Manchester) and former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) that he would stay neutral in the primary.

You have to be kidding me.

You have to be kidding me. Did Manchester all of a sudden get an extra boost of Evangelicals or super conservative voters? According to a Rassmusen poll that came out, those are the only people that are attracted to Palin. Furthermore, a whopping 75% of people see this pick by McCain to be one of necessity to win, rather than of function for the country.

Kevin's right. It's not only

Kevin's right. It's not only Manchester. That spec of red you will see in the Northeast is New Hampshire's 4 electoral votes going to the McCain-Palin ticket. They will get right around 300 total to win the election. It's not just because of Palin, but she definitely helps.

Dems now protect the glass ceiling

The nasty response of the media and some Democrats towards Palin is what is going to help McCain win.

Lefties are now the protector of the glass ceiling if they object to a women for the VP slot based on lack of experience while they promote Obama as ready to serve as president. This is yet another stunning display of hypocrisy from the Democrats.

Another good example is how Dems love the pick of Biden as VP to make up for Obama's lack of gravitas after they attacked Bush's selection of Cheney for the same reason.

I think it all comes down to voting records. That tells everyone what we need to know about foreign policy and the Supremes. Economic policy? I think that is clear, too.But people think they want change, while forgetting that not all change is good. Better to say that they prefer a candidate because of their proposed policies, not the fact that they are not another candidate!
