Sununu praises McCain's speech

U.S. Sen. John McCain and U.S. Sen. John SununuU.S. Sen. John McCain and U.S. Sen. John Sununu

MINNEAPOLIS--U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) issued a statement minutes after U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) finished his nomination before the Republican National Convention.

"John McCain's strength as a leader comes from personal experience and hard fought battles in which he has usually prevailed," Sununu said in a statement. "He's not afraid to stand alone, but he's also willing to reach across the political aisle."

Sununu, who decided not to attend the convention, added that he is "proud to call him a friend."

"Tonight he spoke about those experiences with the trademark candor that has won him the trust of the American people. I'm proud to call him a friend, and know that as President he will always place service to his country above all else."

While serving in the United States Senate, Sununu and McCain has attended several foreign trips together and Sununu has often cited McCain has a role model.

stand alone?

Bush was not afraid to stand alone either and look where that has gotten us, into an uneeded war with little support from the rest of the world. I want someone like Obama who will stand with us!

Laughable

McCain gave a speech that we all expected, long on substance and short on style, while osama gave a speech long on style and promises, but devoid of substance-also what we expected. Given his pisspoor judgement throughout his life, there was little osama coudl say that you make me trust him with a vote. There were a few things McCain could say to get me to trust him and he said some of them. Enough for me to vote his way but I'll be keeping Uncle Ron Reagan's admonition in my mind-Trust but verify.

Have another beer Mark

Your comments reflect the sarcastic, insulting and devoid of any rational thought process that only Karl Rove could be proud.

Off the wall attacks will be the downfall of the Republican Party...again.

Where are the "off-the-wall

Where are the "off-the-wall attacks", you gutless anonymous puke? ;-) Sorry, it was too easy. In all seriousness, there were no off-the-wall attacks at all in his speech. He laid out specifics that were actually acheivable. McCain delivered what Tim Wakefield gives the Sox-a good performance designed to keep the team in the game. You can twist, whine and pontificate all you like, but them's the facts.

Obama Promises Rainbow, McCain Delivered A Plan

Mark is right. A vote for Obama is an 'emotional' vote. McCain did not make a bunch of empty, undeliverable promises. He may not be the smoothest guy in the room, but that isn't the most important thing in a president. A President above all else must know how to deliver. Obama has NEVER delivered on ANYTHING...EVER.

Obama is hoping that Americans are to dumb to realize that his promises are completely BS. It is insulting really to listen to his arrogant 'words of wisdom' and then think that we, as Americans, are going to just buy it.

Are you really that numb?

You don't think your second grade level name calling exposes your candidate to be a low life?

McCain's willingness to encourage you to post such vomit reveals that he does not have the judgement to president.

Palin being cloistered in Alaska

The GOP’s new superstar needs to go back to Alaska and won’t be available to answer to the media. To be fair, her son is leaving for Iraq and they deserve some privacy. However, don’t tell me that Sarah won’t be cramming over the Cliff Notes for CINC.

I guess we’ll see how well Gov.Palin can hold up to being a Governor, trying to fulfill those executive duties that we hear so much about. And boning up on “World Politics 101”, so that she can hold up her image in front of the cameras on October 2nd.

We will wait Gov.Palin. We all know you need the time.

substance

I believe that both parties and most of the candidates for U.S. President are presenting substantive policies and platforms. We just like to claim that there is none when their policies are not in line with our own. For example (as I hear it), Sen. Obama believes that an American woman should have access to all reproductive choices, and that we need more social programs to survive. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin believe that an unborn child has a right to life, and that the family unit is the primary building block of a strong society. (My words, sorry, I'm not going to go look for quotes). Sen. Biden I have not paid much attention to. And - there are more that I'm not mentioning here. Personally, I prefer the leadership of McCain and Palin.

MyHead misses the point

But why does that not surprise me? I don't particularly care from McCain so to call him "my candidate" is as asinine as your whining. Again, there are no attacks, so whine at nothing-no skin off my arse. McCain is the candidate who will do less harm, IMO. There are far better candidates, but when forced to choose between the lesser of 2 evils, I choose the McCain.

Don't buy your backpeddling...

Sorry Mark, but that just doesn't cut it.

There is no whining on my part just a lot of low brow drunken frat boy posts from you that is devoid of anything other that insults and smears.

You are the poster boy for what is wrong the Republican Party in 2008.

Thank you for reminding all of us how pathetic the McCain campaign become and how low they are willing to go.

Learn to read

Not my candidate. Lesser of 2 evils. What part of those 2 statements do you miss? Moonbats like you who cannot read for content aren't worth the effort, so I'm done. No attacks, merely the truth-something with which you've shown a clear inability to deal.

More Lies

You repeatedly refer to a US Senator who is the nominee for president of the United States as "Osama" and you don't think you are being childish? You don't think you are offensive? You don't think that your words and actions speak volumes about the Republican Party and John McCain's candidacy? You don't think you add to the debasing of the foundation of our country? You don't think that your behavior is what convinces average Americans the it is not worth voting or participating? You don't think that you spit on the grave of every brave American who had died for our right to vote and live in a free land? You don't think that you lowlife insults are an attack on everything that is good and decent about the United States of America??

How out of touch are you??

runaway Johnny

John Sununu tried to distance himself from his role as a neocon cheerleader by not attending his party's convention. Both he and McSame are Bush acolytes - and now we see him cautiously sucking up to McPOW, just in case.
