Kenney says oil legislation should have been formed earlier

Gubernatorial candidate Joe Kenney: Campaign PhotoGubernatorial candidate Joe Kenney: Campaign PhotoCONCORD-- State Sen., and gubernatorial candidate, Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield) is applauding the legislation to help low-income residents deal with the rising cost of home heating oil, but says the plan should have been developed earlier.

"I'm pleased that we're taking action but I think we should have taken action six months ago," Kenney told PolitickerNH.com after a bipartisan news conference at the State House.

Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton), joined by a bipartisan group of lawmakers, announced they have developed a plan that would allow the state to advance $10 million to a program designed to help residents afford to pay for home heating oil.

"I put out an energy plan two months ago to help people afford to heat their homes," Kenney added.

Kenney's energy plan would repeal the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, help local governments to install energy efficient equipment, and creates an emergency energy fund through non-profit organizations and businesses.

Great to hear Mr. Kenney

Great to hear Mr. Kenney solved the heating oil crisis months ago. Who knew he was so effective?

However, as I consider his plan, I have to admit that I have a few questions on how it works. How will repealing RGGI help people heat their homes this year? Will they burn copies of the law in their wood stoves? And not to be too picky, but how does greater energy efficiency in my town hall, whatever that means, help the working poor to buy heating oil in January? Finally, how much money has Mr. Kenney's voluntary fund raised so far? $10 million? $1 million? $10,000? $276.82? Will it be enough?

Lynch

Has anyone seen lynch's ad? He is a spender, a liar and he refuses to pledge to "change". Take a look at this video...
