UNH poll: Lynch cruising to re-election

Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton) appears to be on his way to an easy third term.

According to a new poll, Lynch is beating his opponent, state Sen. Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield) 66 percent to 17 percent with 15 percent undecided.

The WMUR Granite State Poll also found that 65 percent of Republicans approve of the job Lynch has done as governor.

When asked what is the most important problem facing New Hampshire, 30 percent of respondents said that jobs and the economy are the most important problem facing the state, followed by high taxes at 14 percent and how to fund primary and secondary education with 10 percent. However, 70 percent of residents said the state is heading in the right direction.

The poll was sponsored by WMUR-TV and conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.

Hold on now!

I thought Gov Lynch was running unopposed this year? I know he ran against someone in the primary. I heard about her a lot, but I never heard about a Republican challenger. I thought once that guy from the Post Office said he was not running that the Republican's figured they would be better saving the money since they are so fiscally conservative. Why waste money on a lost cause?

Who is this Kenney guy? I tried doing a Google search and I only found a guy that builds scale models of things with Lego's! Is this the same person?

Can someone tell me who he is?

You are an idiot...

If you are politically aware enough to visit this site then you know exactly who Iraq War vet Sen. Joe Kenney is. Looks like the Lynch staff has nothing better to do than play around on Politicker.

wow

Dont be so defensive Casey.

You are correct on one thing though. If I worked for a campaign and my opponent was under 20% going into October, I would have alot more free time too.

Lynch is the idiot

If the press were more forthcoming about the impending Lynch Deficit of $495 Million, the 25 new taxes, the land grabs and greenhouse gas taxation nonsense, the repeated scandals with mail and phone hijinks and suspected pedophelia and stolen computers, maybe the public would be better informed.

Just reading about this lastest $10 M energy assistance fiasco Fahey would have had you thinking it was a breeze, when really it was just one of two sessions that were basically 'lockdowns' with no public input.

This guy Lynch came from ACADEMIA (which right there tells you something about him ) and doesn't deserve to be dogcatcher. But who would know when the press fawns over him putting out phony approval ratings?

yes taxpayer you got it, the only loser here is lynch he is the only governor ever who bankcrupt the state of NH and all the sheeps
are rewarded him with fony ratings did he work before at unh? just curious
because the other polls have other ratings
they are afraid that a marine wins...
let he be the governor again it will be 950million debt and his rating will be 95%

Lynch cruising

Hey, out there. Lets give some respect for a Marine who has served his country with honor, who has served his state as a Representative and Senator with honor. Senator Kenney is trying to point out Gov. Lynch's shortcomings and is willing to put himself in the public spotlight by steping up to the plate and taking a shot. Would you rather we elect a king?
