Gov. Peterson's wife endorses Obama
By Brian Lawson, PolitickerNH.com ReporterDorothy Peterson, wife of former Republican Governor Walter Peterson, has endorsed Barack Obama.
During the New Hampshire primary Walter Peterson served as honorary chairman of John McCain's campaign and is also chairman of Republicans for Lynch, a group that has endorsed Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton).
"I believe Senator Obama is the best prepared to lead this country at a time when we are in desperate need of strong leadership on everything from women's rights to the war in Iraq," Dorothy Peterson said in a press release. "I am extremely worried that with the wrong choice this fall, Roe v Wade could be overturned and our government could take away a woman's right to make what is a very personal decision about when and how to raise a family."

Incredible
This is incredible news. I've known Walter Peterson since 1969 -- my first term in the NH House, when he was Governor. I've appreciated him all these years, and in recent months have worked with him on the "Granny D" concept of campaign finance reform.
I think I only met Dorothy Peterson once, perhaps twice. She seems to be a wonderfully independent person and is doing the right thing -- supporting Barack Obama for President.
Must be some fascinating conversations in the Peterson household these days!

Peterson and Frau Peterson are about as relevant in this race as are the KC Royals in teh MLB playoffs. Splaine's been in the legislature since 1969? SHeesh, that's a perfect case for term limits and explains many things, not the least of which is why the NH house puts the fun in dysfunctional. Never in my years have I seen a less effective waste of oxygen.
