SHAHEEN FOR SENATE RELEASES NEW TV AD HIGHLIGHTING SUNUNU'S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO RUN FROM RECORD OF STANDING WITH GEORGE BUSH IN SUPPORT OF LAX OVERSIGHT OF FINANCIAL MARKETS

New ad highlights Shaheen's support for increased accountability and oversight

"John Sununu's record of supporting George Bush's agenda of lax oversight and accountability has led to the worst crisis on Wall Street since the Great Depression," said Kate Bedingfield, communications director for Jeanne Shaheen for Senate.  "Now, he is making a desperate attempt to run from his record and is trying to point fingers at Jeanne Shaheen for a financial crisis he helped create.  That's laughable, since it is Sununu who has been in Washington for 12 years, five of those years on the Senate Banking Committee, pushing for less accountability and less transparency on Wall Street."

"Unbelievable"

VO: John Sununu's blaming Jeanne Shaheen for the economic mess he and George Bush Created?

Unbelievable.

It's Sununu who has been in Washington for 12 years.

Sununu who voted for the bill that started the Wall Street crisis.

Put our savings at risk.

Sununu who voted to double the national debt to 10 trillion dollars.

Jeanne Shaheen knows we need to end the era of greed and reckless spending.

And get our economy working again for the middle class.

A new direction takes a new senator.

SHAHEEN: I'm Jeanne Shaheen. I approve this message.
