St. A’s poll: Obama up by 12

According to a Saint Anselm College poll Barack Obama is leading John McCain by 12 points in the Granite State, a margin significantly higher than recent polls.

Last week a Suffolk University poll had Obama beating McCain by 1 point, while a UNH poll had McCain leading Obama by 2 points and Rasmussen had McCain also up by 2 points.

In the Saint Anselm poll Obama is leading McCain by 49 percent to 37 percent with 11 percent undecided.

"Change in Washington is extremely important to 44% of likely voters, the poll shows.  Of those voters, Obama drew 65% and McCain 22%. Ten percent of voters were undecided and 3% said they would vote for another candidate," the poll also concludes.

Abt SRBI performed the poll which has a margin of error of 3.5 percent and included 832 respondents.
