Shea-Porter, Hodes on fence over bailout bill

New Hampshire's two United States Representatives are still undecided over whether or not they will support a revised bailout bill that is expected to be voted on later today.

U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) both voted against the original bill on Monday.

"I'm trying desperately to get to 'yes,' " Shea-Porter told the Associated Press.

"The No. 1 principle influencing his decision is what is in the best interest of New Hampshire taxpayers and the people he represents," Mark Bergman, Hodes spokesman, said. "He's not going to base his decision on whatever the two presidential candidates have said or House leadership says."
