Partisan heads show partisanship discussing Senate forum

MANCHESTER-- New Hampshire Democratic Chairman Ray Buckley said the debate between U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) and former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) showed that Sununu "still doesn't get it", while a local Republican Chair said Shaheen was being evasive on answers.

"It's clear that after 12 years in Washington John Sununu still doesn't get it," Buckley said. "He's still talking about privatizing Social Security and that there's an easy solution to nuclear waste."

Sununu and Shaheen participated in a debate sponsored by the Business Industry Association; it was their second debate this year.

Buckley added, "I know that in politics there's a filter but sitting here and get real sense that Senator Sununu is disconnected from reality."

Jeff Hatch, Salem Republican Chairman, compared Shaheen's debate performance to the presidential debate.

"Just like Barack Obama, she failed to name one program that she'd cut, same thing Obama did in the debate," Hatch said discussing which federal programs Shaheen would cut.

Hatch said Sununu's strongest point came when he was discussing the bailout bill.

What a farce

Once again, the power elite shut out their competition. Libertarian Party candidate Ken Blevens is polling at 7%, but the sponsors don't believe voters deserve to hear about him.
