Londonderry Town Moderator Cindi Rice Conley has decided not to allow campaigners stand directly outside of Londonderry High School. Instead they will be have to stand on Mammoth Road.
According to The Union Leader, Rockingham County Republican Committee Chairman Greg Carson said he will challenge the decision in court if necessary.
"Someone needs to send Cindi a copy of the town's RSA's or the Constitution, because this is uncalled for," Carson said.

Londonderry Polls
I just want to make sure to clarify what I said last evening, I know the reporter was under a tight deadline to get his story into this mornings paper. I said,” someone needs to get a copy of the NH RSA's and the NH and US Constitution to the moderator - she obviously doesn’t have a clue.
These issues have been litigated in the NH courts and no matter how Mrs. Conley wants to disguise her capricious and arbitrary rulings, using Homeland Security and the Fire Chief as cover; she cannot deny people the right to politic at the polls.
Mrs. Conley has yet again trampled on the rights of the citizens of Londonderry and this time it may cost her and the towns thousands of dollars if the Town Council and Town Attorney don’t immediately help her see the error of her ways. We the taxpayers will have to foot the bill if her lunacy is to prevail, just so she doesn’t have to see signs or republican candidates being warmly greeted by friends, neighbors and enthusiastic supporters right outside the polls.
Let’s also be clear, Mrs. Conley is a partisan politician trying to do whatever she can to support her Democratic beliefs. Prior to Mrs. Conley ascending the “throne,” mostly because no one ever bothers to run against her, we didn’t have any of these problems. I have shared many cups of coffee in bitterly cold and rainy weather with my Democratic friends, equally dividing the “battleground” outside the school doors without ever a problem. Even now those of us who are on total opposite ends of the political spectrum find her behavior and rules completely irrational and we just want it to stop even if it means going to court.
The courts frown on citizen’s being recklessly denied their rights and will not only give the citizen’s injunctive relief they will also award attorney’s fees. I hope the town and Mrs. Conley have got a tidy sum set aside to cover the costs of not only defending a suit but also paying for the attorney’s who represent the citizens.
Question
This seems absurd. Why not let them near this school? It's how elections are held everywhere else in the state.
Mr. Carson, not to be provocative, but what I don't understand is how pushing people away from the polls is partisan. It doesn't seem that they are only pushing away Republicans.
Re: Question
That is a very fair and appropriate question; let me explain my statement. In the short space it’s difficult to provide 6-years worth of town history in such a short space.
It’s not a big secret that Londonderry has never voted in a non-Republican in a regular election in nearly 100 years. You might be surprised however to learn the majority of school and town elected officials are in fact Democrats, or Republican in name only.
Mrs. Conley has done her own share of electioneering to support Democratic candidates in her time in Londonderry, and on occasion, in my opinion, inappropriately so while serving as the moderator.
For example, in a recent election Mrs. Conley scolded a disabled republican campaigner, who built a small stand to hold his sign, saying he could not use the stand. She went on to rant that he could not display the sign at all unless his hand was at all times holding onto the sign. No more than twenty minutes later a democrat campaigner attached his sign the fences right outside the school entrances. I, and others, watched Mrs. Conley look at the sign and take no action for more than 45 minutes. Only when someone else finally called her on the double standard did she ask for the sign to be removed.
While this entire argument might seem petty or small to some, it is a big deal to me. It’s not that I even care anymore to stand out a the polls all day holding signs, it’s just that I have a right to do regardless of what some clueless bureaucrat on a power trip might think.
OK
So, if I'm reading you right, you're suggesting that the policy would only be applied to Republicans and that Democrats would be allowed to violate it?
If that's the case, then by all means I would challenge it. However, if it is applied uniformly, I still don't see how the policy is partisan in nature.
Just curious.
Re: OK
You're off the mark by just a little bit; I'm saying two separate things.
First is I have seen Mrs. Conley apply the rules differently to Republicans as to Democrats. Second, in either instance as to Republicans or Democrats the application of her new policy is in conflict with state law and the US Constitution.
Please note that I use the terms rules and policies loosely as she has never post her “rules” publically nor even presented them in writing at a public hearing. Apparently, they are a secret and we only get to know about them as she applies them against us on Election Day.
I want to again stress this is not an issue between Democrats and Republicans in Londonderry or in Rockingham County for that matter. This is all about Mrs. Conley’s Gestapo-like tactics to enforce her political fancy.
And, before any readers decide I am calling Mrs. Conley a Nazi, I’m doing no such thing. Form all outward appearances she seems to be a very nice person, just misguided and uniformed as to the premise of our constitutional right to freedom of speech.
Londonderry Moderator Pushes Back Politicians
Indicating that she was acting “After consulting with Londonderry Police and their Homeland security representatives.” Cindi Rice-Conley announced last night that Londonderry would no Londonderry Hometown Online News On Demand TV have politicians lining the walkway to the gym where all of Londonderry comes to vote. Candidates and their supporters would instead have to stand between 580 feet and 700 feet away from the entrance...

Gregory Carson is 100%
Gregory Carson is 100% correct on his posting's and if you go to http://www.londonderrynh.net/?p=4585 you will see my comments along with RSA's. What is a shame is at any of our elections no rules are ever posted and candidates are not given any rules pertaining to the procedural rules at the polls. Now two years ago in a political advertising in our local newspapers there she was endorsing all the Democrate State Rep candidates. The Moderator makes them up as she goes along. AL Baldasaro
Be prepared
To avoid any problems on Nov. 4th, I would suggest getting copies of ordinances dealing with this issue. If no ordinace exist, I would suggest having copies of the RSA's on hand.
Carson is being absurd
If anything,Cindi is hurting Democrats by this ruling. The Republican party is depressed, disorganized and disoriented. The rag tag bunch of Republicans that would be herded together for election day viz would be no match for the superior Democratic energized, organized and fully focused team.
