MANCHESTER-- The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire have endorsed state Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester) re-election campaign.
In 2006, the group endorsed Gatsas' current opponent Bob Backus (R-Manchester). Gatsas and Backus are competing for the state senate district 16 seat.
Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire President David Lang cited Gatsas work on the pension bill, safety issues and not laying off Manchester first responders has reasons for the group's endorsement. Gatsas is also on the Manchester Board of Alderman.
"This has been a relationship building process over the past two years," Lang told PolitickerNH.com. "We don't agree on some issues but the proposals that Senator Gatsas has brought to the table are ideas we think should be considered."
Gatsas said he was "honored" to have the endorsement and said he has always supported issues close to the fire fighters.
"My door is always open and the door was never closed even though they didn't endorse me [in 2006]," Gatsas said.
Gatsas added that he is campaigning hard for his re-election effort.
"I never worry about it, I always run like I'm three votes behind."

Proposals?
What proposals has Gatsas brought to the table?
Payback
This is all about Gatsas the alderman, not Gatsas the state senator.
Gatsas rolled over and played dead for the Manchester Fire Dept during last spring's budget process. If Jamie Burkush asked for $3.5 million for gold plated business card holders, Teddy would be the first one to ask how many karats.
Dear Teddy
The republicans in NH, save a small and stupid minority, would rather see you dead than ever hold office again.
I would sell my soul just to watch you lose.
Thanks!

Not a Republican
This is more proof that Teddy is not really a fiscal conservative nor a real Republican. I do wish him a long life and good health, however. I just hope he spends the rest of his life in retirement.
Congratulations!
I say good for Gatsas. Just what Concord needs someone that will bridge the gap between parties and work towards solutions. Other politicians should take his lead and do what's in the best interests of New Hampshire citizens.
Anonymouse, are you Alderman
Anonymouse, are you Alderman Mike Garrity?
LOL, no I'm not!
But I can see why you'd say that! I've got a hunch that Garrity would agree.
