BEDFORD-- Campaign officials from both candidates in the 1st Congressional District said their candidate did a "fantastic job."
Former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) participated in their first debate earlier today.
"Jeb did a fantastic. He had a clear understanding not just of the issues, but of how they affect people in New Hampshire," Alicia Preston, Bradley's campaign spokesman said. "Congresswomen Shea-Porter did a great Nancy Pelosi impression, but that doesn't help anyone but her Washington colleagues."
Pia Carusone, Shea-Porter's campaign manager said Shea-Porter
"I think she did a fantastic job," Carusone told PolitickerNH.com. "She pointed out her record and she's been fighting for us."
Both officials took issues with comments the opposing candidate made.
"And, after running an ad falsely claiming she took no money from lobbyists, it's nice to hear today that she was forced to give her lobbyist donations back after being called on it," Preston said. "Let's see if she does the same with Rangel Cash."
Shea-Porter said in the debate that she has returned money from lobbyists that contributed to her campaign.
Carusone took issue with Bradley's stance on Social Security.
"I think it's interesting that Mr. Bradley didn't take privatization of Social Security off the table," she said.
Bradley said in the debate, "What I'm not going to do is say that any option that might work even though I am skeptical that we should take off the table but one thing I would really disagree with my opponent on this is that she's always looking for taxpayers to bailout the government and this is another example."

HB 3036
Both Porter and Hodes brought us a huge spending bill with HB 3036. It will cost $500 B and will be another federal mandate and further ruin the public schools as places of learning.
It is the most outrageous piece of legislation to come out of the 14% Democrat Congress YET.
It will ensure that ALL public school children be indoctrinated into world class socialism and liberalism for generations to come, thus guaranteeing the Democrats their vote each election. It completely politicizes our already politicized system, where 'social change' is the goal, not learning.
(Even Walter Peterson is into this nonsense now)
If parents don't wield some force over their school boards and reject this interference fromthe federal DOE, there will be no more GOP. There will be no more freedom of thought, and there will be NO MORE FREEDOM.
DO not underestimate the effect this has on society. The William Ayers types have taken over our schools.
I wrote to complain to Porter about what she had done and was ignored.
Please look up HB 3036 because your child might have this disease known as "Nature Deficit Disorder".
IF this doesn't prove that Hodes and Porters are KOOKS nothing does.

They both suck
CSP is an idiot with the brainpower of a garden snail, but Jeb is a complete, unmitigated scumbag. Bad choices, but that's what politics in this once-great nation has become. Arm up and prepare for a disastrous regime that'll make Shrub's look like a fargin garden party.
What a bunch of eyewash, Al
You're a sentient adult and you know better than this. Carol Shea-Porter is a strong and forceful Member of Congress. Jeb Bradley was a weak guy who never accomplished much. It's as simple as that.
