Clegg says Cullen knew about candidacy

State Sen. Bob Clegg (R-Hudson) says New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Fergus Cullen knew he (Clegg) was planning to for Congress, The Union Leader is reporting running.

"Fergus knew I was going to run. Everybody knew I was going run," Clegg said.

Cullen said he was encouraging a variety of candidates to run against Congressman Paul Hodes (D-Concord) and approached Jennifer Horn to run after Clegg did not take any steps towards reaching a decision.

"Until somebody files a campaign committee, we can't be sure that they are going to do it," Cullen said.
