UPDATED: NH GOP appeals voter list ruling

The New Hampshire Republican Party has decided to appeal the voter list case.

The appeal will be sent to the New Hampshire Supreme Court.

"This was a fundraising scheme from day one. The New Hampshire Democratic Party made nearly $400,000 in profits from the sale of the voter file which was assembled using taxpayer dollars," Cullen said in a statement. "We are asking the New Hampshire Supreme Court whether the lower court erred by failing to consider making the New Hampshire Democratic Party return those profits to the taxpayers."

A lower-court ruled that the selling of the voter list was legal.

In 2007, the Democratic Party purchased the list from the Secretary of State and then sold the list to various presidential campaigns. The party also argues that they did not sell the Secretary of State list, rather they sold their own list complied by staffers that had updated information from the Secretary of State list.

"The poor legal advice that the NHGOP is receiving is questionable,” said Pia Carusone, Spokeswoman for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. "How much is Fergus Cullen being charged for this 'counsel'? They lost the case last month and now they want the State Supreme Court to get involved? Between paying the $25,000 yearly fine for phone jamming and wasting donors money once again on frivolous filings it is no wonder the NHGOP is financially and creatively bankrupt."

"The grassroots Republican, who is undoubtedly looking for real leadership in their Party, will not be fooled by these lazy attempts to ignore the real issue at hand: providing relief for the many Granite Staters who are struggling under this failing economy," Carusone continued.

Fergus is losing it.

Shouldn't he be busy trying to find a candidate for governor? Recruiting for the legislative races? Raising money? Building a party?

Where is Fran? Where indeed.

Keep up the pressure on

Keep up the pressure on them. The Democratic Party CLEARLY broke the law in this regard and someone, if Kelly Ayotte will not, needs to hold them accountable.

If anything is questionable Pia, it is your poor grammar and sentence structure. Where did you go to college?

Where's Fran? Who cares, If

Where's Fran? Who cares, If the party wanted her as chaiman they would've elected her. She claimed to be a team player and promised to support who ever won the bid to be chairman. After the election she started her own little group and managed to split the NH GOP. I say where ever Fran is let her stay she's dead to me.

What a s*****k !

What do political parties do, but raise and spend funds ? They don't make or sell anything, so all the money they spend they have to raise...some schemes work better than other Fergie...methinks you are just jealous because you have to pay them 25,000 per year from Phone Jamming SCHEME

Fergus never had it, my friend.

And as a Democrat, I'm not complaining. Less work for us activists.

Fergus is irrelevant

Salem Voter, pull your head out of the sand and smell the coffee (to mix metaphors). The GOP State Party is bankrupt and moribund.

Fran's group provided dozens of ground troops for the special elections in Hooksett, Seabrook, Brentwood and Goffstown. The state party provided zero.

Fran's group are the only ones actively recruiting candidates for the house. They are running a campaign school to train the candidates they recruit. What's the state party doing?

Fergus is too busy trying to find a job in Washington so he doesn't have to be a house painter. He only hires inexperienced staff so that his edicts go unchallanged. Even then, Water Street has been a revolving door for staff because no one can stand to work with him for very long.

Perhaps you should get the facts before posting about things you have no knowledge of.

Rankandfile you are simply

Rankandfile you are simply wrong.

Fran's group may be PLANNING a candidate training session with potential candidates for the state house but the State Party and the House Leadership ALREADY planned, sponsored and ran a training and recruitment session with more than 70 potential candidates.

In the special elections it was the NH GOP NOT the so called Reagan Network that paid for mailers and phone calls and recruited volunteer phone banks.

Wrong is wrong

You are not only wrong, you are a lier. The candidates in Goffstown and Brentwood received not one dime from the state party. Zero.

Reagan Network

First off, I did not "start" Reagan Network. Right after the disasterous Nov 06 election, a group of concerned activists formed what was then known as the NH Conservative Network. This was months before my run for state party chair. When I offered to work with the party after the election, the new chairman declined all the roles I suggested that I do and said his choice for my role was to be a policy adviser when he called me to ask about legislative issues. And I gladly did that the one time he called me.

I then threw my energies into the Conservative Network which soon became the NH Reagan Network and the rest is history.
I've put the chair's race behind me and am moving forward to advance strong Republican principles.

Reagan Network's role is geared toward primary assistance and the Party's role is in general election efforts. They are not supposed to engage in primaries, so we do not compete but are complimentary. I have been absolutely clear of my intentions that I personally will join as a member of the State GOP team in the general election as will Reagan Network. Just as I have done in every single special election since the chair's race. I, as well as Reagan Network, assisted in various roles in each of them. Sometimes in ways not even apparent to the party or the candidate. I did poll standing, phone banking and contributed financially all while working well and in conjunction with State Party staff.

I think Republicans need to stop worrying about what Fran or Fergus is doing and start worrying about what we ALL need to be doing together for the general election effort. www.nhreagannetwork.com
