Former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Thomas Christo has passed away.

Christo, 59, died Saturday from a brain aneurysm.

In 1990, Christo ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate. He lost in the Republican primary to future U.S. Senator Bob Smith.
