Congressman Paul Hodes votes for House FISA Extension Bill

Congressman Paul Hodes today voted for the extension of FISA that does not include retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies.

“I supported this legislation because it protects the rights of Americans to be free from government spying, while also putting the necessary tools in place to keep our country safe from terrorist attacks. It is very important that this bill does not extend retroactive immunity for telecommunication companies that may have violated our liberties. I hope that both parties will end the political gamesmanship and work together to extend the FISA law in a way that does not violate Americans’ rights.”
