Plans Discussion of a Full-Service VA Hospital for New Hampshire
Washington , DC – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter announced today that Representative Bob Filner (D-CA), Chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, has agreed to visit New Hampshire to discuss veterans' issues, including efforts to restore a full-service VA Hospital to New Hampshire. The Granite State is the only state that currently does not have a full-service VA Hospital.
Congresswoman Shea-Porter has been a strong advocate of returning a full-service VA Hospital to New Hampshire. Earlier this year, she wrote a formal letter to Gordon Mansfield, Acting Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, asking for his support. A copy of the letter is attached. She has also worked with her colleagues in the House of Representatives to bring attention to this issue.
The date for Chairman Filner's visit will be announced soon.
