Clegg Touts Big Government Health Care

Clegg Touts Big Government Health Care

More Mandates in Minneapolis

(Lebanon)  Republican Grant Bosse today criticized rival Bob Clegg for bringing his big government health care agenda to the Republican National Committee.  Clegg will share his plan to increase mandates on private health insurance and dictate lifestyle choices for all Americans as part of a panel discussion on obesity in Minneapolis today.

“New Hampshire families will pay higher health insurance rates because of legislation Bob Clegg supported and sponsored,” Bosse said.  “Now he’s bringing that big government agenda to the Convention, and he wants to bring it to Congress.”

Clegg supported Democrat John Lynch’s legislation mandating that all New Hampshire health insurance companies carry a health care plan written and administered by state bureaucrats.  He also sponsored legislation that mandates bariatric surgery be covered, after undergoing the procedure himself.  Bosse has released his own Comprehensive Health Care Plan that would increase consumer choice in health insurance and bring down costs through competition.

“I’m thrilled that Bob had bariatric surgery.  It probably saved his life.  But just because it was right for Bob Clegg doesn’t mean government should mandate it for the rest of us,” Bosse added.  “We can’t afford Bob Clegg’s big government health care plan, in New Hampshire or in Congress.”
