But Sununu said he was "very pleased" that Lynch proposed increasing the compulsory age for staying in high school to 18, "and I really do hope" that it passes.
Sununu congratulated Lynch personally for the proposal on the reception line later, only to learn from the governor it's already the law, passed last year.
"Oh, I didn't know that," Sununu responded.
