Howard Prepared To Legally Challenge Recount Results

CONCORD- After two weeks of counting there has been no major discrepancies found in the Republican primary recount. Yet, Republican candidate Albert Howard said he is prepared to legally challenge the results.

“Based on what my lawyers will say, I am legally ready to take it to the next level,” Howard said. “This is a level one of a deeper level,” he added.

When asked what that next level might be Howard said he believes Secretary of State Gardner will be called to testify before the United State House Judiciary Committee.

“After the public becomes more aware of what is occurring here I think Gardner will be called to testify.”

Skeptics of the recount have also been posting online videos in which they argue the process is tainted.

“Anybody who wanted to rig an election would have known how to rig a recount,” said Sally Castleman of the group Election Defense Alliance.

She argued that the “the chain of custody is not a secure process.”

Chain of custody is when the ballots are moved from the polling location to the state archives building.

Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlon said “the chain of custody is a non-issue.”

“The ballots are transported with a police escort and signed by local officials.”

Scanlon also said that the Secretary of State office will respond skeptics once the recount is over.

“There’s lots of stuff on the internet. When the recount is over we will comment,” he said.
