Americans for Job Security airs radio commercial on Shaheen's economic record

An independent conservative Washington organization has started airing a radio commercial calling on U.S. Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen to oppose higher taxes for New Hampshire families.

Americans for Job Security is behind the one minute ad entitled “Taxes Hurt” which discusses Shaheen’s economic record. The ad primarily refers to Shaheen’s time as governor of New Hampshire.

It mentions how she had pledged to oppose new taxes but signed a state wide property tax.  It also discusses Shaheen’s proposal of a new sales tax and a capital gains tax.

The commercial, which targets small business owners and families in New Hampshire, concludes by asking the listener to call Shaheen and ask her to oppose higher taxes.

The purpose behind the commercial is to get public policy issues into the debate, said President, Steve DeMaura. “We are interested in seeing the reaction from tax payers around the state,” he said. “The people of New Hampshire deserve to know where she stands on this,” DeMaura said.

“These are taxes that hurt families and small business owners. They deserve honesty and deserve to hear from their civic leaders.”

This is the first phase one of the New Hampshire project, DeMaura said. They plan on talking about a number of issues that affect the economy in about one-half dozen other states this year.

This commercial will run on radio stations across the state over the next few weeks.

Americans for Job Security is an organization that refuses to state where their funding comes from. That says enough.

Typical Republican Deceit

The ads regarding Shaheen's record, of course, don't tell the whole story and are a typical ploy of the Republicans to twist facts to deceive. The "truth of the matter" (as all politicians like to throw around) is that New Hampshire residents continue to enjoy the second lowest personal tax burden in the country.

I really resent these

I really resent these "foreigners" coming into New Hampshire and trying to tell us how to vote. Let them keep their "educational" mail in Virgina. New Hampshire voters are smart enough to decide for themselves.

Special Interest Money

The Center for Responsible Politics did a study of politicians receiving special interest money from environmental groups and listed the top ten. Jeanne Shaheen was No. 8!! for money received the last time she ran against John Sununu. (John Kerry Was No. 1 and Al Gore was No. 2) How can she possibly vote in the best interest of the people of New Hampshire in keeping down cost of gas and heating oil if she in obligated to environmental groups?
