Tom Eaton announces bid to reclaim seat in state Senate

Former state Senate President Tom Eaton (R-Keene) has decided to try to reclaim his former seat in New Hampshire's 10th state Senate district.

Eaton was unseated by state Sen. Molly Kelly (D-Keene) two years ago by slightly more than 4,000 votes. In a statement issued this afternoon, he promised to deliver a balanced budget and cited Kelly's fiscal policies as a key reason why he decided to make a bid for her seat.

"Two years ago Molly Kelly ran on the promise of fiscal responsibility," said Eaton. "But when she got to Concord she voted for a 17% budget increase and more than a dozen tax and fee increases."

Eaton flaunted his own experience working to craft the state's budget, while supporting measures to decrease government spending, which he considers to be "simply irresponsible."

Round 2

Tom is delusional.

This is great news for Molly Kelly. Tom has made so many enemies within the county, in the Republican Party and especially with Governor Lynch that Molly will once again have a first class support network at her disposal.

Tom is the last person Fergus should have allowed to run.

With few friends in either

With few friends in either party, the "empty tan" has got to be a longshot.

Tom Eaton

I see a lot of frustration among Democrats with Molly Kelly. So little has happened. There is so much work to do. Tom Eaton got things done. Molly is a minion to the Governor. It holds her back.

Eaton was such a sore loser

Eaton was such a sore loser last time it is surprising that he is running again. Keep in mind that his own party relieved him of duty in a leadership post.

Molly Folly

Unfortunately, Molly spoke of rolling up the sleeves and fixing problems, then went to Concord with an Income Tax agenda. That is just a typical simple minded cart before the horse view of the world. These politicians think throwing money at a problem will fix it, but it just becomes an expensive and temporary bandage. We need to work with the towns to consolidate many of the small SAUs with the larger ones and cut back on the number of superintendents (it's ridiculous to have one per town). Next, centralize authority and spending on education for handicapped - the blind, deaf, downs, autistic. Once that is accomplished, then address the funding shortfall. I'm tired of these know-nothing politicians that 'fix' things until they are severely broken. Buh-bye Molly.
