If anything, the pick gives Biden plenty of ammo to use against McCain. Biden's job isn't to attack the opposing VP; any attacks will be directed against McCain. To that end this is a great area to score points about McCain's lack of judgment and hypocritical bashing of Obama's supposed lack of experience.

Joe Biden: Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, well-versed in all aspects of diplomacy and national security policy, respected by world leaders, served as chair of the Judiciary Committee, understands nuances of Constitutional law.
Sarah Palin: Former beauty pageant contestant, mayor of a town smaller than Hampstead, a year and a half as governor of a state that is half the size of Middlesex County.

Frankly her husband is good looking too. (And a real man) I'll bet a lot of women will vote for that alone!
