Statement from Chairman Buckley on Dr. Buckey ending his campaign for US Senate
(Concord NH) - "Dr. Buckey will be a New Hampshire leader for years to come. His breathtaking knowledge, life story and ability to clearly articulate a vision for a better New Hampshire will be a long lasting message.
"The Buckey campaign was a campaign of issues and for that we are all grateful. As a Veteran and physician, Jay Buckey rightly pointed out where John E. Sununu has failed New Hampshire. Our need to reduce our dependency on foreign oil, develop a sensible energy plan and replace the George Bush/John McCain/John E. Sununu failed leadership team with public servants who will fight for America's working families has never been greater.
"In Jay Buckey we have all made a friend this year. It is not easy to decide to step aside and he deserves our support and encouragement.
"It is clear that Granite Staters are rejecting the radicalism of Bush/McCain/Sununu. In November, we will elect a fiscally responsible leader who will represent our interests in the US Senate, not the special interests."
