First Up: Bob Clegg

State Senator Bob Clegg was the first NH congressional candidate to file his 1st quarter FEC reports.  Clegg showed a total of $19,950 raised with a 100k loan and 85,631 cash on hand.

You say Petreaus, I say Petreau

Most candidates these days are weighing in on the Petreaus-Crocker hearings one way or the other.  Senator Bob Clegg is no different. Clegg has penned an opinion piece supporting Petreus and his Iraq plan.  Clegg’s post was not what caught one of his opponents campaigns though, it was the link on the front of page of Clegg’s site which touted his post on Petreau-Crocker.

Mr. Clegg goes to Washington

State Senator Bob Clegg, who is seeking the Republican nomination for the 2nd Congressional District, is making his first trip to Washington DC today. Clegg has scheduled meetings with some business community leaders, the NRCC and will be making the rounds to some various Hill newspapers.

Hodes declares re-election bid

While it will likely surprise no one, Congressman Paul Hodes, for the first time in the media, announced flat out that he is seeking re-election this year.

In a taped interview with WMUR's "Close-Up" with host Scott Spradling, Hodes, a freshman Democrat, said he is seeking a second term.

Hodes also answered criticism from state Republicans that he used Congressional franked mail for political purposes. He said he sees value in using franked mail and will continue to use it.

The show airs on WMUR this Sunday at 10am.
