AFL-CIO plans to 'reveal' flaws in McCain health care plan

Over 100 AFL-CIO volunteers will visit 1,600 union households in the Manchester area this weekend to critique John McCain's health care plan.

The effort is part of a national effort, "McCain Revealed," in which the AFL-CIO will reach out to union members.

Yesterday John McCain proposed a health care plan that is nothing more than a creative new tax on working people.  His plan would give the big insurance companies even more power over our health care and raise costs on working families who are already strapped in this increasingly sour economy.

Mitchell to join NH, Maine AFL-CIO

The former director of the New Hampshire House Democratic Caucus and the deputy state director for Joe Biden's presidential campaign will now help out the efforts of the AFL-CIO.

Heidi Mitchell will be the union's political communications specialist for both Maine and New Hampshire. She will be based in the Hooksett office.
