Supports Critical Energy Legislation

 

Washington, DC—Late last night, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter stood with American consumers by voting in favor of critical energy legislation.  The Comprehensive American Energy Security and Consumer Protection Act will increase domestic oil production, expand renewable energy, and end subsidies to big oil companies.  The bill passed 236-189.

The environmental group is drawing attention to figures from the non-profit, non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics that reveal that John Sununu has taken over $230,000 in campaign cash from the oil and gas industry.

Sierra Club releases TV ad

The National Sierra Club has begun airing a television ad that criticizes U.S. Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) energy plan. The ad buy was first reported by PolitickerNH.com earlier this week.

The Sierra Club has also been airing a radio ad that defends U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester).
