Gatsas offers ‘clean campaign’ pledge to Backus

State Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester) has proposed a "Clean Campaign Pledge" to his challenger Bob Backus (D-Manchester), which Backus calls a "gimmick."

GATSAS SENDS BACKUS CLEAN CAMPAIGN PLEDGE
DEMOCRAT PARTY LEADERS ASKED TO SIGN ON

MANCHESTER,
NH - - Senator Ted Gatsas has challenged opponent Robert “Bob” Backus to sign a Clean Campaign Pledge.  “It’s my hope that Bob will agree to run an issues based campaign rather than resorting to scare tactics, distortion and cheap campaign trickery” began Gatsas.

The Clean Campaign Pledge has four objectives: 1) to call for an exemplary code of conduct to be followed by each  candidate, 2) an agreement to not personally attack one another, 3) denounce all third party activity and 4) receive acknowledgement from third party stakeholders to honor the pledge.

“There are critical issues facing the voters and they deserve solutions over dirty political rhetoric.  The constituents in District 16 are concerned about how they are going to pay for their heating bills this winter, the escalating cost of gas for their cars to get to and from work and how the State of New Hampshire’s looming fiscal crisis is going to affect their pocket book.
