CONCORD--Nashua radio talk show host Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) accused her opponent U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) of failing to provide leadership on energy independence.

Horn said Hodes has voted against legislation that would improve America's energy supply, while the Hodes campaign called its candidate "a leader" on renewable energy sources.

NASHUA –Jennifer Horn, Republican candidate for Congress, spoke on energy independence and the economy today at a press conference from The Red Blazer Restaurant in Concord.

Jennifer Horn: “A long term energy strategy is the key to our economic development.  We have had an energy crisis for over 30 years, and if we leave it up to Paul Hodes and this Congress, they will continue to talk about the need for energy independence, but actually not do anything about it.  Energy Independence is an economic, security and environmental problem and its time to send someone to congress who will actually work to do something about it and not make excuses.”

MANCHESTER--The voter who took center stage in last night's presidential debate was referenced again in a debate between former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) and current U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester).

Bradley brought up "Joe the plumber" in an answer on Social Security. During the final presidential debate, both John McCain and Barack Obama used "Joe the plumber" as a reference to discuss their plans for middle-class voters.

However, Shea-Porter neglects to mention that she voted against pro-drilling legislation on multiple occasions and just recently, she voted twice to take a five-week vacation while New Hampshire voters have been waiting for Congress to act.

After Decades Of Fighting Nuclear Power, Shaheen Flips Position

CONCORD, NH – In an interview with Foster’s Daily Democrat this weekend, Jeanne Shaheen flip-flopped her position on yet another major policy issue, claiming that she supports nuclear power after decades of opposing it. Despite omitting nuclear energy as component of her previously released energy proposals, Shaheen now says that nuclear power would be an important part of her plan if elected to the Senate.

"Paul Hodes has done a ton of things that has not only embarrassed me as an American but also as a citizen of New Hampshire," Clegg said.

The debate sponsored by the Cheshire County Republican Committee featured Grant Bosse of Hillsboro, Jennifer Horn of Nashua, state Sen. Bob Clegg of Hudson and Jim Steiner of Concord. Alfred L'Eplattenier of Rindge did not participate. The winner of the Republican primary will compete against Hodes in the general election.

The campaign of New Hampshire Republican congressional candidate Grant Bosse today issued a press release attacking Democratic incumbent Paul Hodes for supporting a proposal from Congresswoman and fellow Democrat Carol Shea-Porter that would mandate oil companies to drill on any federally leased land in their possession. Bosse is running against Hodes for New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District seat.
